Arrival in Lhasa
Upon arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, guests will be respectfully greeted and transferred to the city. This first day offers a gentle introduction to Tibet’s spiritual atmosphere, allowing time for acclimatization to the high altitude of 3,650 meters (11,975 feet). The afternoon may be spent wandering through Barkhor Street, Lhasa’s historic pilgrimage route, where local Tibetan life is on full display. Jokhang Temple, the spiritual heart of Tibet, lies at the center of this bustling area, providing a peaceful moment for reflection.

Lhasa Sightseeing
Today’s exploration focuses on Lhasa’s spiritual landmarks. The Potala Palace, the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama, offers fascinating insights into Tibetan culture and religion. Afterward, visit Drepung Monastery, once home to thousands of monks, followed by a visit to Sera Monastery where participants can observe the famous monk debates.

Lhasa to Namtso Lake
The journey to Namtso Lake begins today, traveling through Tibet’s high-altitude landscapes. Namtso Lake, located at an altitude of 4,718 meters (15,479 feet), is one of the highest saltwater lakes in the world. Upon arrival, enjoy time to walk along the shores and reflect amidst the tranquil surroundings. The lake, sacred to the Tibetan people, offers a space for contemplation and spiritual connection. An overnight stay near the lake allows for a deeper experience of this serene site.

Namtso to Yamdrok Lake
The journey continues to Yamdrok Lake, known for its stunning turquoise waters and sacred significance. Yamdrok Lake to Gyantse
Travel today to Gyantse, known for the remarkable Gyantse Kumbum and Pelkor Chode Monastery. The Kumbum, a multi-level chorten, contains exquisite murals depicting Buddhist teachings. After visiting the monastery, participants will have free time to explore the peaceful town of Gyantse, experiencing its Tibetan culture and unique atmosphere.

Gyantse to Shigatse
A short drive brings participants to Shigatse, Tibet’s second-largest city and the home of the Tashilumpo Monastery. This massive monastery complex, founded in the 15th century, is the seat of the Panchen Lama, one of the most important religious figures in Tibetan Buddhism. The 26-meter (85 feet) golden Buddha statue in the main hall of Tashilumpo is a magnificent sight and provides an opportunity for reflection. The afternoon is free for further exploration of Shigatse, where one may explore local markets and experience Tibetan daily life.

Return to Lhasa
The return journey to Lhasa offers a final opportunity to absorb the awe-inspiring landscapes of Tibet. Along the way, participants will pass through charming villages, nomadic settlements, and vast open landscapes, offering a reflective end to the journey. Upon arrival in Lhasa, the evening may be spent at leisure, perhaps revisiting Barkhor Street for last-minute shopping or enjoying a peaceful moment at Jokhang Temple.

After a restful breakfast, guests will be transferred to Lhasa Gonggar Airport for departure. This marks the end of an unforgettable journey through Tibet’s sacred lakes, high-altitude landscapes, and rich cultural heritage.
