Arrival in Paro
The journey begins with a flight to Paro, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks. Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, visitors are warmly welcomed and transferred to their accommodation. Spend the day relaxing and acclimatizing. If time permits, take a stroll around Paro town, known for its quaint charm and vibrant local markets.

Thimphu Sightseeing
Travel to Thimphu, Bhutan’s bustling capital city, passing through lush valleys and terraced fields. Along the way, stop at Tachogang Lhakhang, an ancient temple with a picturesque iron bridge. Upon arrival, explore the city’s attractions, including the Buddha Dordenma statue, a massive gilded figure overlooking the valley. The evening is at leisure to enjoy the city’s serene atmosphere.

Attend the Thimphu Tshechu Festival
Immerse yourself in the heart of the festival at the Thimphu Dzong. Witness the captivating masked dances and rituals performed by monks, each with deep spiritual significance. Join locals in offering prayers and lighting butter lamps, symbolizing devotion and purification. Take breaks to savor traditional Bhutanese snacks and interact with friendly locals eager to share their culture.

Thimphu to Punakha
Embark on a scenic drive to Punakha, Bhutan’s former capital. Cross Dochula Pass, where 108 stupas stand as a tribute to fallen soldiers, and enjoy panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayas. Upon arrival in Punakha, visit the Punakha Dzong, a fortress set at the confluence of two rivers. Conclude the day with a hike to Chimi Lhakhang, also known as the Fertility Temple, surrounded by rice fields.

Punakha to Paro
Return to Paro, stopping at Wangdue Phodrang along the way to explore the local market. Back in Paro, visit the Paro Rinpung Dzong, a fortress that offers incredible views of the valley. Take time to explore Ta Dzong, a watchtower-turned-museum housing artifacts that tell the story of Bhutan’s rich history.

Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktsang)
One of the most iconic experiences in Bhutan, the hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery is both spiritual and awe-inspiring. Perched on a cliff 3,120 meters above the valley, the monastery is believed to be where Guru Rinpoche meditated. The trail passes through lush forests, prayer flags, and waterfalls. Upon reaching the monastery, spend time admiring its intricate architecture and serene surroundings before descending back to Paro.

Departure from Paro
On the final day, enjoy a relaxed breakfast with views of the Paro Valley. Depending on the flight schedule, there may be time for a last visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest temples, symbolizing the country’s spiritual roots. Guests are then transferred to Paro International Airport for their onward journey.
